Who is Dr. Liubov Gargaun
Dr. Gargaun, mother of two children, graduated with Honors from medical school in 1983, and then continued her training by means of an internal medicine postdoctoral fellowship. She practised medicine as an Internal Medicine Specialist for over fifteen years at a teaching hospital centre, the following eight years as program director of the Internal Medicine Department, and has extensive experience in teaching clinical pharmacology (including drugs in pregnancy and lactation).
In January 2003, she joined the Motherisk Program at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada, where she studied drug use in pregnancy and lactation. She is the author and co-author of scientific articles published in peer-reviewed medical journals.
Dr. Gargaun has counselled many women at the Motherisk Program on the safe use of drugs during pregnancy. In November 2003, she joined the Duchesnay team as a Medical Advisor. Her goal is to develop new and safe drugs in pregnancy and to communicate evidence-based information on Nausea and Vomiting of Pregnancy.
